Your own design

I first cut letters by hand as a teenager in the family business and followed my interest in carving to the City & Guilds of London Art School. I then studied Masonry in Bath College and Advanced Masonry in Telford College, Edinburgh. I was given the best Apprentice Carving Award by N.A.M.M. The different colleges gave me experience in working with Sandstone, Limestone, Slate, Granite and Marble. My portfolio includes carving stones for buildings such as the Albert Clock, Merchant Hotel, Parliament Buildings Stormont and Queens University, Belfast.

I can use this experience to create one-off memorials in a choice of stone. Commissioned works allow the family to input into the memorial design and create a more personal tribute. Carving a memorial by hand is obviously a slow process and my clients' ideas and feelings are taken into account from beginning to end.

I have been privileged to carry out work for many different families and there is no geographical restriction on where I can travel to erect the finished memorial.

I hope the photographs here say more for my work than I can.
